Workplace Innovation: Strategy and Culture

Facilitator: Dave Whittington

Organizations often identify innovation as a critical strategic objective, yet struggle to achieve it because it is not supported by their organizational culture. This workshop guides you through an exploration of what a healthy focus on strategy and culture might look like, and how it can support workplace innovation. Based on the final course in the Graduate Certificate in Workplace Innovation at Royal Roads University, this workshop provides an overview of the concepts and activities that are part of the nine-week online program.

Topics Covered:

  • Explore the complex relationship between strategy and culture and how the two need to work together to create truly innovative organizations
  • Consider non-traditional approaches to strategy development
  • Assess your organization’s innovation culture
  • Identify how to promote innovation in your organization by considering the current strategy and culture
