WordPress: Getting Started - ONLINE

Need a web presence to support your teaching at RRU? To share a research project with the world? Or just a place to house your musings about your discipline, teaching and academic life? Then a WordPress site at RRU is what you need. This three hour on campus session will help get you started in developing your site. This is an introductory workshop that offers hands on practice in editing content and managing media. No experience necessary.

***Please note: CTET has temporarily suspended on-campus workshops. This workshop will be offered online via Collaborate Ultra until further notice.

*This workshop is for RRU core faculty, associate faculty, or staff only. At this time, external applicants will not be accepted.*

Learning Outcomes:

  • Navigate the dashboard
  • Add and edit content (create pages, posts, links)
  • Embed pictures and videos in pages and posts
  • Use the WordPress Customizer to do basic style customizations to a theme
  • Working with menus and changing widgets
  • Restrict access to your WordPress site
  • Identify ways of getting additional WordPress support
