As the popularization of mindfulness continues in various contexts in both our personal and professional lives it is helpful to know the history of these practices and how they have sprouted up in the West over the last 50 years. By knowing where these practices come from we can acknowledge and honour traditions that have come before. This honouring helps one to avoid adding to the “McMindfulness” in the West today.

For those bringing mindfulness-based practices into various professional settings, it is helpful to know the history of the practices and the contexts in which they arose on the world stage.
This course can be taken on its own or as part of the Integrated Mindfulness Certificate.
